styling a table (table setting)
Placing cutlery, plates and other sophisticated things on a table is decorating, styling of a sort. Although, it is important to remember that the atmosphere the table setting will either enhance the meal or not. You also have to have the right table setting theme.

Mobile
technology, the new face of the Hospitality Industry.
For too long there has
been the expectation that because hotels are fixed entities, emerging technologies
would have minimal impact. However, over the past several years, this universal
idea has been rapidly changing as mobile phones are becoming critical tools on
both sides of the check-in desk.
The hotel chain InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has been testing customer mobile technology which allows customers to use their mobile phones to check in and unlock their hotel rooms. “Phone capabilities ensure a quicker check-in process for guests...skip the front desk and go straight to their rooms, where they can swipe their phones to unlock the door.” Mr McCormack said.
The mobile system can be integrated into existing phone app services made by hotel chains or as a standalone function.

The system also makes it easier for hotels to handle security for when customers lose their room keys.
Mobile technology is not reserved for just large international organisations but for small independent properties, giving customer service a healthy competitive edge.Old fashioned, labour intensive check in processes are no longer required, if exchanged with this innovative mobile technology. This enables hotel team members to 'meet and greet' their guests at any location, allowing flexibility for improving the personalisation of the check-in experience and reducing the costs associated with static reception desks.
